POINT TAP FESTIVAL 2015 – DESCRIPTIONS

---

Beginner classes welcome dancers of all levels of experience including basic beginners with or without tap shoes who are interested in trying percussive dance! We will learn foundational steps and The Shim Sham Shimmy, a one-chorus tap routine created in the 1920’s by tap dancer Leonard Reed. These vernacular dance steps have been handed down through generations and are a great way to introduce new dancers to tap. Known fondly as “the national anthem of tap,” the Shim Sham unites dancers from all over the world and is often used to close a tap dance concert. Tap shoes, Sneakers or hard-soled shoes are appropriate for this class.

Advanced Beginner/Intermediate classes are designed for students ready to grow their tap skills in a supportive professional environment. These sessions are recommended for teen and adult dancers.

Intermediate/Advanced classes are geared toward seasoned tap dancers – professionals, teachers and college-level dancers who have significant tap experience. Sessions may include technique, choreography and improvisation.

Select your own level. If at any time you decide you would be more comfortable in the other class, changes are possible.

POINT TAP FESTIVAL 2015 – CANCELLATION & REFUND POLICY

There is a non-refundable processing fee of $25.  Full refunds (minus $25 processing fee) are available through July 5th, 2015.  50% refunds (minus $25 processing fee) are available between July 6-30th.  Sorry, refunds are not available after July 30th.
